MAS Certification

Master Alteration Specialist

The Master Alteration Specialist (MAS) Certification Program is a performance-based testing program, not a school, which was developed by the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals (ASDP). It is based on ASDP’s Standards of Quality and is open to anyone with sewing-related skills. MSDP certification provides the professional with the prestigious credentials that validate skills and expertise.

This performance based testing program consists of five modules, each with its own specific requirements and methods of testing. Upon successful completion of all five modules, participants will receive a certificate proclaiming their achievement, along with the right to use the Master Alteration Specialist credential in his/her business. In addition, members of ASDP who successfully complete the program will be listed on the National Referral List on the ASDP website, with the designation of Master Alteration Specialist (MAS).

The cost for the MAS Program is $800.00 for Association of Sewing and Design Professionals (ASDP) members and $1200.00 for non-ASDP members. Continuing Education requirements (CEU’s) are also required for all participants to maintain MAS certification. Please note that this is not a school and we do not offer classes.  These requirements and further information about the MAS Program are available by clicking on the links below.
